So many dead here

Folder:
2012

I didn’t think I would end up here
Piled upon one another like manure at the farm
I thought I’d be a dancer
Or a princess
Or a farmers simple wife
Spending my eternity in the fields
I didn’t think I’d end up here
A tourist mound of misery
I didn’t think I’d end up here
I thought I’d be in heaven

Author's Notes/Comments:

written at St. Columbs Cathedral in Derry, the graves were so tightly packed in areas that they were one upon the other, others were right on the edges of the grounds and even under the scaffolding of the buildings beside, two more were even right up against a door at the side of church so that were one to open the door they would be walking on the dead, it left me with an odd feeling.
