A Mirror

You have said so much just to build me up,

Even supporting your words with actions.

All these nectars which serve to fill my cup

Still fail to stir up healthy reactions.

You see the beauty while I see the flaws,

And I’m merciless in my own critique.

What good comes of such thunderous applause

When logic fails and memory proves weak?

Again I scan my physique. Eyes travel,

Focusing in from every direction –

Mere moments and I start to unravel…

How is it in me you see perfection?

I have exhausted everything to get an objective view.

Would that I had a mirror that would let me see what you do.
