Love Has Won

Some would tell me you’ve been taken away,

Wrested from me in permanent fashion,

And while they’re entitled to have their say

I disagree with the fiercest passion.

Wherever I go I will carry on your essence,

Your spirit ever guarded, tended to.

My day-to-day living will prove our coalescence –

One sharp turn and there you’ll be, coming through.

The evils that are the fates can’t beat all –

Our phoenix rises to a victory song.

In battle they win, but in war they fall –

Yes, we've seen to that – our power is too strong.

Anguish came, but love lasts eternally.

It is. It was. It forever shall be.
