Silent Film Eyes

I know I’m free to run –

After all, there’s nowhere to hide.

Try to escape the sun

And you’ll be a fool to have tried.

Little beacons of light flashing through me

Halt me and my reason most unruly,

Reckless in their power,

Growing by the hour.

I’m unsettled and transfixed

To now see these colors mixed.

Does he even realize

He has silent film eyes?

Chocolate pudding, chilly and brown,

Inviting me in with each passing glance.

When exactly did he come to town,

And will I resolve now to take this chance?

Little beacons of light flashing through me

Halt me and my reason most unruly,

Reckless in their power,

Growing by the hour.

I’m unsettled and transfixed

To now see these colors mixed.

Does he even realize

He has silent film eyes?
