My Sun God

Folder:
30. XXX (07.24.20)

I cling to the vine in blooming’s wake,

All colors vivid in my anguishing.

I quiver on the cusp of daybreak

Or the stone precipice of languishing.

Blessings came upon me in summer rain

But in your absence I cannot sustain.

I need you, my sun god, to shine your light.

Come to me now in your sweet, sultry ways.

Infuse my world and make everything right.

Conquer me at last with your mighty rays.

This time of radiance is fleeting.

Take me now for all I’m worth.

Overwhelm me, senses competing

Before I’m returned to earth.

Draw my buds open and pierce the skin.

Make me sweat with original sin.

I need you, my sun god, to shine your light.

Come to me now in your sweet, sultry ways.

Infuse my world and make everything right.

Conquer me at last with your mighty rays.
