Even If I Burn

I’ll lay my body on the line

All for the pleasure of your taste.

Come drink me like Italian wine

With relish and no time to waste.

Don’t think about sands through the hourglass.

Let each drop of ecstasy come to pass.

The time has come to rule me like a king.

Savor all the nectar until I learn.

Declare yourself sovereign of everything

And drain the cup dry, even if I burn.

Like a grape on the vine I lie in wait

Beseeching the sun to bring me your eyes.

I’d deal with the devil, tamper with fate

Until demons are here to sermonize.

I’d sell my soul, set the world on fire –

No one but you can quench this desire.

The time has come to rule me like a king.

Savor all the nectar until I learn.

Declare yourself sovereign of everything

And drain the cup dry, even if I burn.
