Baby

The tiniest breath can cause a seismic reaction.
What else should we expect with the laws of attraction?

Each one a lullaby straight from your lips,
Cradling me warmly in its sweet, gentle song.
Tell me who would ever want to leave this?
Nothing that feels this right could ever be wrong.

I never heard the word. Then you called me Baby.

It cascades gently into the air.
Long afterward it still lingers there.

In this hideaway, this place for only you and me,
Your shoe-button eyes hold a slice of the sun.
Held tight in your embrace I feel authentic and free –
It’s a victory over darkness I’ve won.

Let in the light. It's bliss to be your Baby.

There is no shelter like the warmth of your chest.
No safer place could I ever long to rest.

With one word you make me your cherished boy,
Love and gratitude welling in my eyes.
Nothing could come close to the perfect joy
That you’ve made it possible to realize.

Say it, and it feels like the first time: "Baby..."
