The One Thing

The more we've collided the less I know,

Complications keeping us in tow.

The moments I cherish kept growing,
Allowing me to take things for granted.
With all my senses overflowing
My view of things became rather slanted.

I've learned so much in my time spent with you,
Late nights that served to restore and renew.

Your warm touch, your soft kiss, those sweet words you say...
How could you blame my getting carried away?

In clearing all the cobwebs my mind will allow
I'm stricken by the relative ease
With which we can transition to the here and now,
Circumnavigating stormy seas.

I shall remain, I'll stand with you at the final curtain...
How much you must love me - the one thing I know for certain.
