Let Me

We speak to each other every night, every day.
We smile and we laugh, yet you then turn away
As though oblivious to what's going on,
As though there is nothing to expand upon.
This fire burns inside of me –
Feel free to throw some logs on it.
This is a picture plain to see –
One need only gaze upon it.
I've been stomping the grapes without tasting the wine,
Johnny Weissmuller without riding the vine,
An alcoholic marooned out at sea
With the wrong kind of drink surrounding me.
Let me in now, or close the door –
You see how I yearn to explore.
