I Hope She Appreciates Him

How he smiles as she speaks, oh so sweet.

What a touching effort he makes to understand

In spite of the way his senses compete,

Diminishing all the powers at his command.

After some time my eyes focus elsewhere,

Absorbing her aura, her affable laugh.

Silly, yet I cannot help but compare

Myself, though I’d never be his other half.

What a lucky girl to have his attention.

Little do they realize how he has mine,

How windows could shatter from all the tension,

At least until my sense falls back in line.

For a love like mine he’ll find no synonym.

Too bad. I just hope she appreciates him.
