I've Got a Song for That

Back in the day I only made guesses.

I couldn’t claim any insight.

With time, knowledge, too, often progresses,

Core truths moving into the light.

Many times they told me of hearts once broken

With friendly warning of what I’d go through.

I laughed, but truer words have ne’er been spoken –

Sifting through wreckage will alter your view.

A farewell toast to the once lily-white

Who could not know the pain life had in store.

Rapunzel wished to descend and take flight,

But most happy endings do not endure.

So tell me your problems, hang up your hat,

'Cause chances are I've got a song for that.
