Headlights

Don't say a word because you don't have to ask,
Just reach out and I will steady you.
I don't hesitate since I'm up to the task -
I am the calm that tempers the blue.
Visions of you in an alleyway torment me,
Empty cola cans and graffiti, sirens off in the distance.
If you agree these are trials worth transcending
Why not acknowledge my entreaty, heed the call of my insistence?
Your oasis is overdue.
Let my headlights envelop you.
