You can't see them coming 'till they're right on top of you,
Their emblems outlined in the morning light.
Fashioning meanings for fleeting attributes
Is evidently a golden delight.
I therefore hope you're a magpie with discriminating eye
Able to distinguish image from reality,
Not one to predictably cry when she cannot tell a lie
Or confuse a book of answers with banality.
You'll need more than reprints to find your handsome prince -
Otherwise you'll remain closed off unable to take your clothes off.
Fool's gold may glitter but it's for fools just the same.
To see you seduced by it would be such a shame.
