14. Firecracker

Ooh I burn, burn.

But I learn, learn.

Yes, I made that mistake and can’t press rewind

Yet I can move on now and leave it behind.

Climbing up mountains I picture your face

Striving to conquer, blot out, erase.

I burn the candle at both ends to leave you in the dust

Not because I want to but need to, because I must.

Your package arrived at my doorstep.

I tore it open and so here we are.

This firecracker was all I needed.

A skeleton plays a mournful guitar.

Now you burn, burn.

How I’ve learned, learned.
