04. Dehumanized

The lights go out, the lights go on...

That's all you have to rely on.

For me you could not shed a tear;

I'm just a thread woven in here.

Far be it for you to blink an eye

Or explain any real reason why

That staunch robot you hide within

Is all computer and no skin,

A digital unit to match your heart

Safely segregated and cast apart,

Insides compartmentalized.

When I touch you you're tinny and hard,

Indicating what you treat me like;

A piece of garbage you can discard,

An apple core tossed on the turnpike.

I only serve one purpose to you:

Aid regulation and I'm through.

This has nothing to do with who I am.

I'm supposed to be passive, willing and sweet,

But I have to object like a battering ram,

Attempt the unthinkable, blast through concrete.

I'm human after all! It can be done.

I have a lifetime to prove this game won.
