May Day

On this axis spins an unethical maze
And so we are all ensconced in this great haze.
After all these years it is still not enough –
The powers above make this ruthless and rough.
To notice it only now is to regret it,
And in forthcoming years I shall not forget it –
There is a deep-rooted seed of contempt
That somehow renders decorum exempt –
You slowly and subtly torture youth,
A tendency that is most uncouth
That nonetheless will never end,
For you will not cease to defend
Loose ideas with logic hollow,
A jagged pill so hard to swallow
That serves to undermine ambition,
A cancer never in remission.
