Two People

If I don't have it, then perhaps he will,
And should he have it then so too will I.
We each have a specific role to fill,
Yet were we sequestered we'd surely die.
I'm just a birth certificate alone,
A sheath of notes in a doctor's file.
With him I am quickly warmed to the bone,
Fully fashioned in the finest style.
I summon him and at once he is there,
Caffeinating the typical ennui
With a potent, individual flair.
Am I served by the confluence? Mais oui!
It is a privilege which I treasure -
To be two people is a true pleasure.
