Poems About Time

I've been missing the days when it wasn't too much
The days that I hardly remember but are still there
All the memories I can't touch
But I can feel them in the air
They live inside my heart
And they rescue me from crying
No one can tear them apart
They're in my mind without me trying
I want to go back in time
To see what I saw and think what I thought
I want to freeze it and enjoy the climb
And relearn the things I had been taught
So I suppose it's true what they say
It was something I knew all along
They say to seize the day
But back then I wasn't wrong
I didn't live too fast
It just took time to realize
That my childhood wouldn't last
But now I see this through different eyes
Live your days to the fullest
Live in the moment of now
When you look back, those times will be the best
But you will still always wonder how
They went by so fast and they seem lost
But in your mind you will have found
That the time passing fast was the cost
For you to keep all the memories around

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is a poem that I wrote after I had this unit in my english class, it sparked an inspiration. I noticed that not a lot of people really live in the moment. They're either waiting for the future or remembering the past. It's not wrong, it's just something hard to do. But we have to try to remember to seize the day so that we can have a fully lived life in the end.
