I have finally realized
After all this time
That I was the cause of my own demise

So now I stand up tall and true
Shed the echoes of my youth
And rise up from my broken truths

Today marks the first in a long line of many
Dedicated to myself not long ago
The realizations dawn on my soul
That I am the future I control
This life is mine, and mine alone
And I decide just where it goes

Today I woke hours before dawn
And realized what I should've all along
The only way I can be strong
Is if I stand and give my all

Today marks the catalyst of change
Guiding me to better days
No longer trapped in shadowed ways
No more shadows will I chase
From never before to never-ending grace
I now choose the road I take

This catalyst consumes my mind
Changing thoughts revealed in time
Erasing challenges I'd once fight
And coaxing out my softer side
Today, I change because it's right
Today, I change and catalyze
Embrace the silence in the sky
And take my place inside the night

Today, I mark the days to come
And everything still left undone
Today, I challenge my own tongue
To sing the songs yet to be sung

The catalyst of my change of mind
Will spark the rhythm in my rhyme
And you'll all see my better side
And for myself, it's about damn time

So, welcome one and all
Poets, friends, and random calls
To the new rhythm in the rhyme
To my all new state of mind
