A Fathers Reunion

I could have reached out

and found you there

you were always so close.

I'd pass by you at the grocery store

We'd smile, like friendly neighbors do.

Maybe I saw you, playing with your children.

Quietly thinking, hoping, wishing it would be you

Maybe you saw me, a forgotten, but familar face

And somewhre, deep inside you, something stirred something knew.

But you would brush it off, as you always had,

Thinking dreams like this seldom come true.

Twelve years ago the search began

it started from within

We find ourselves, hidden deep inside

and let the healing process begin.

It wasn't easy coming through, we both had demons to face.

but now, with heartache slain and control regained

we have our time for peace.

I've got you now, you're here with me, through this viel of tears i still see.

Our happy ending, filled with love, that knocks me to my knees.

Thank you are the only words, that could possibly come to mind.

I've lived a life full and plenty and now it is our time.
