Ink Stains

Ink stains, ink scars,

ink wounds the page,

marks the hand,

and never fades.

Ink stains, ink mars,

truths we cage,

lines that brand,

and still persuade.

Some write for healing,

some write for pain,

some write for leaving,

yet all remain.

Ink stains, ink scars,

ink wounds the page,

marks the hand,

and never fades—

until the mark is us,
the hand its page,
and the pain itself
stains back.
