Eternal City

 

The old vulture’s circle one more time
Priceless, pristine, clad carmine
All robed in silk
And it’s all change amongst the strange
The grim old men of that ilk
A small fire’s smoke may yet shed light
But never warmth
In the ancient city sesspit
Built
Not all in one day
On the seven mounds of bone
And misery
