Making the Crown

Let life be your goal, live the life fully.

Take each precious minute and study it.

Weigh and hold each up to the light, gleaming.

Like a diamond, some will be flawed.

Some will be wasted, or slip through your hand.

Some will be black, like the teeth of the hag.

But all are priceless and when they are gone,

The lustre may dim in your memory.

The brightest jewels are those which you share,

With friends, family, lovers and strangers.

These jewels never fade and grow brighter,

Later whilst sharing the memory,

Make sure these shared jewels are the best.

The brightest, best coloured, fine cut,

Not gaudy, ugly or marred by evil.

For these are the jewels that make the crown,

That you will wear for all eternity.
