Just Keep Swimming

Cast out from, comforts of home,

to a world devoid of land.

Options fall to sink or swim.

Ancestors sleep beneath the sand.

Life's one and only purpose;

treacherous race to a golden egg.

Destination deemed, impossible to reach,

when asked to sprint with broken legs.

Weight of dreams on shoulders,

knees greet panic with a knock.

Anxiety feasts, on ominous ticks;

composed by Biology's clock.

Expelled into a velvet labyrinth,

on a quest to be reborn.

Every inch the soldiers progress,

leaving countless more to mourn.

Amidst the stampeding chaos,

blinding light bursts through the room.

After a war of winless battles,

our flags been planted on the Moon.
