Grounded

Loosely woven layers of midnight encircled us.

Lucid dreams engulfed my senses as we slept

giving way to memories of you leaving me on the ground.

I would stand and stare in a whirlwind of perfumed air.

You were so untouchable.

You were beautiful like an angel in flight

that couldn't touch down.
