On this Valentine’s Day, my love.

I have no sweet words to share.

I only want to let you know

That I will always care.

No matter where our paths may lead,

Or how many years may pass.

The memories of you that I hold dear

Are made to last and last.

I know that you are just a dream

That never will come true.

But maybe in another life,

I’ll be lucky enough to be with you.

It’s strange how fate plays cruel tricks

Yet with a gentle hand.

I feel so very much for you

And hope you’ll understand.

I love you with a loving heart.

I wish for you only the best.

Please know that though we’re far apart,

My love for you exists.

It’s not a love that wants to own,

Or needs to be reciprocated.

You don’t have to feel remorseful

Or feel otherwise obligated.

Don’t ever feel sorry that we met

Or regret words we never say.

Be happy that our hearts have touched

And shared and cared this way.

It’s not your fault, nor is it mine.

Neither of us are to blame.

My loving heart is given freely,

Proudly, and without shame.
