Do You Love Me?

Folder:
Scribbles on Life

Do you love me? You say you do.

You don’t have to say it if it isn’t true.

What is love? Is it just a word?

Do you think it’s something that just has to be heard?

Do you suppose by saying it that makes it all right?

Does it make up for things you say when we fight?

Does it mean you own me and can boss me around?

Does it mean you can criticize me and put me down?

To tell me you love me is absolutely absurd

When all in all, actions speak louder than words.

I don’t need an owner.  I am strong and secure.

An independent woman, of that I am sure.

I don’t need a father.  I already have one.

I don’t need you to tell me what has to be done.

I do need a lover, a partner, and a friend,

I want someone to share my life till its end.

Now let me ask you again. Do you love me? Do you?

Honesty is something I DO need from you.
