Hide And Seek

Folder:
My Archives

For a while, I thought I had found true love.

My heart soared with exquisite delight.

Now, you've gone into hiding once again.

I'm searching, but you're nowhere in sight.

My soul is weary from looking for you.

What pleasure can you take from my pain?

Why must we waste even one single minute?

Why must I spend my life searching in vain?

I know you're out there waiting somewhere.

I'm so tired of playing this crazy game.

Just when I've given up hope that you truly exist,

I hear you mischievously calling my name.

I long to have you here, now, at my side,

Forever and always, as it should be,

Not just fleeting glimpses meant to drive

My heart and soul into frustrated frenzy.

From the corner of my eye, I see you dart by,

Pulse racing, I frantically give chase,

And just when I've almost captured my prize,

I clumsily trip and fall on my face.

I need to know that you're not a fantasy,

Not just some cruel joke at my expense,

I desperately have to know that you're real,

So somehow, this whole charade will make sense.

Come out, come out, wherever you are,

I've had enough of your impish pranks,

The day you come out, forever to stay,

To the heavens above, I'll give eternal thanks.
