Here in my sanctuary my soul is at ease,

Words release emotion giving relief,

No matter the loneliness or pain incurred,

Writing it down helps to clear all the blur,

When the hurt is so much more than pain,

I turn to my sanctuary to help me explain,

I know in my heart no one understands,

But when in writing there's a better chance,

The only reason I'm here before you today,

Is because I release all my pain in this way,

Upon these walls of empty space,

Are a million tears that burned my face,

Too many empty promises to know,

And traces of love from long ago

So much emotion is hidden within

Here is where the process begins

Its slow and steady like the sea,

Healing in the walls of my sanctuary.
