It is easy for the ocean to speak
but we never really listen
she yearns for us
to skim her surface with our fingertips
but she will continue being who she is
She needs us. We know this.
When she roars at night,
And whispers at dawn,
“Would you love me? I made it easy.“
When her waves, like tendrils, reach the shore,
her thoughts untangle
on the other side of the Earth
where it is bare
And the sand is soft and sinking
with the moon
It is easy for us to sink,
to bond to the Earth
without entanglement
but despite the knowing
of who we are to love,
she ends up leaving
but thinking of you
