Cherry tree

when I was a young girl
my father take me to the bank
I'd always grab a lollipop

it became a habit of mine
eating lollipops on my own time
taking them to the car
to bed
always stuck in my head

wondering

waiting

trying them all to see if one was better than the other,
but they all tasted like sugar and water

now I cry in bed
thinking about the juices that lollipop shed,
to satisfy me
keep me from going hungry
but I was never happy
happy with my lolly

all I ever wanted
all I ever craved
was a piece of fruit
to give me the satisfaction a fruit gave

I gave everything for a lollipop
but my Heart still feels like an empty coffee shop
if a cherry tree
will fill the void in me
give me love and nurture me,
Give me a cherry tree
that grows with me
branches intertwined like the veins on leaves...
