Shockwave

I want to fuse my thoughts to one,

In this cool night air,

Surrounded by utter silence,

Curdled to despair,

I sit with my hands in my lap,

No one is around,

Can't shake the feeling, I'm trapped,

Like silver spikes in the ground,

Hits me like a shockwave,

No one can hear me scream,

My secret shockwave,

And those lights are a dream,

And the town is out,

Glowing boxes in the night,

Daddy and Mommy not here,

Just look at my artificial light,

And you'll see my friends,

Meet them like you see me,

They are here too,

Dont you believe me???

Cant you see my shockwave,

Metal ripples in the night,

The visual shockwave,

Please bathe me in your light,

And I am a baby again,

Your words are too clear,

What is nature?

What is fear?

Without you, is reality,

Your impact is sheer,

You're nothing without me,

And all you have left,

Is your shockwave.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this a very long time ago...sent it to a site dedicated to anti-television viewing, and it's been up there since.  Dont really know what I was trying to convey, only that I was in a phase of anti-television viewing and thought this was the appropriate vehicle (poetry) to sound that thought.
