Too Long Wanting

Folder:
Love

As I sit here among the

buildings high and noises

loud, I reminisce over you

like a smooth jazz tune that

makes me smile.

The clickitty-clack of my city

chariot rocks me like a cradle

and warms me within the bosom

of the city in which I reside.

As I commiserate while living

under the tent of my own skull,

I think of you smiling amongst

the flowers of the field.

Your skin so brown and beautiful

like the sepia of mama's favorite

velvet dress.  It brings memories

enough to make me miss my stop.

But it is week's end and so

I stay on for the ride to...

wherever.  Knowing noone there,

but unafraid to venture forth.

Besides, it is living in here,

this cavernous world within a

world within an entity, that

makes my time with you so filled

with joy.  I will be with you

when time permits.

I'll travel the miles from this

coast to the other.  And I will

find you where you have taught

me to look.  In my heart, and in

the fields of flowers where the

picture shows you smiling brightly.

I will be there, my mistress.

I will find you there and we will

be no longer wanting.
