The Weight

Standing at the edge of this life a martyr
Wedged between the heavens and earth
He holds the weight of the sky

Pressed against his back
She leaves her outline tattooed across his shoulders
Earth trembles under his feet
Ankles tire from a weight so heavy
To ensure they never meet

Still they wait for a moment of embrace
The ethereal unknown from above
To only be understood by the worldly grandeur below
He may hold them apart
But their hearts will always be connected

Author's Notes/Comments:

Atlas was assigned to hold Uranus above his head to separate him from Gaia to the will never hold each other again
