Life without you

Life without you isn't something I want,

But it's what I got.

You left this world all too soon,

Crying in the night,

With no one but the moon,

To listen to your cries of fright.

Where you used to lie and cry in fear,

Here I am, holding what you held dear.

As you went off in a slumber ever deep,

You have left us here to weep.

And try as I might,

I can't imagine a world without you,

To comfort me when I'm scared at night,

And hold me as you used to do.

Remember when we used to gaze at stars,

Looking for the constellations,

Now here I stand gazing at your scars,

With no one for consolation.

Life without you isn't something I want,

But that's what I got.
