Innocence Lost?

Folder:
July 2002 Poetry

Of all things,

you could take from me,

you took away what hurt,

most of all.

My innocence.

My purity.

You took control of me,

and advantage of me.

What more could you take?

My life?

It’s already ruined.

How can you have a life,

when you can’t have fun,

cause fear consumes you?

I was only a child,

and now have realized,

since I got older,

that you took my childhood innocence.

But couldn’t take the real innocence,

that true love can.
