I go out of my way,

to make you happy.

Only to have you shove me down

with your hurtful words.

I have gone far enough.

I bend over backwards,

to try and get you to accept me.

Only to have you tell me,

that nothing I do is right.

I get down on my hands and knees,

pleading for forgiveness.

Only to be un-forgiven

for a crime I never committed.

but I will try no more.

that I have given up.
