SPOKEN WORD

So calmly he walked in the room but I could sense his fear,

He looked at me so nonchalant, he was ready to hear.

“Dearly beloved we’re gathered here today to mourn the loss of

This young boy that has parted”

That’s when the beginning of his end started.

The priest continued, and then asked for a moment of silence.

This man became angry thinking of that senseless act of violence.

Who would take away someone he considered family,

He began pacing the room while speaking rapidly.

As everyone cried and said a prayer or two,

He kneeled down near the casket and said

“I’ll never forget you”

“I’m going to honor your memory and find who did this to you.”

As he walked out the commotion started,

People falling to their knees mourning the young boy who has departed

Everyone was startled when they heard a sound like thunder.

He kept his promise to his friend and put his killer six feet under.

Three bullets to the chest

“Pay back is a biotch, just like you did to my boy; I’m putting you to rest”

One tragedy after another,

One young life lost after another,

Gun violence is plaguing urban society.

Let’s put the guns away and rebuild our community as a family.
