TELL THEM

Folder:
Domestic Violence

why don't you tell the kids whose mami you hit,

tell them the real  reason you and me split.

tell them the truth, don't go feeding them lies.

tell Jay the real reason he wiped tears from my

eyes.

tell him how you left us when he was just a baby,

tell him how your cheating ass drove his mom crazy,

tell Nelly how when you were home always drunk,

if you walked you stumbled.

tell her how I asked you to stop, how I tried to

love you.

tell Nelly how you chose your friends over me.

tell them how when liqour wasn't enough, you

turned to weed.

Tell them how  I asked you to spend time with

us.

you took  it as me controlling you & you'd

fight and fuss.

tell them how we played second wheel to your

friends.

How most of the time I looked happy I had to

pretend.

You wanna talk so much shyt tell them the truth.

tell them everything you put me through.

I wasn't perfect I did some dirt too.

But I told you I was getting tired of putting up

with you,

I told you what I was going to do before I did it.

the difference is it was in your face, while you

hid it.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This Poem is in my opinion one of the most telling and personal of  my poetry writing,
this is taken from an actual page of my life.
