Divorce

Shattered dreams of a child lie across a floor 
that's never seen the horror and sorrow of his eyes 
or heard the sounds of his nightly sobbing 
or his reaching out for his mom and dad without obtaining 
or felt his tears form at his eyes to travel 
his delicate skin 
or unspoken thoughts, feelings, emotions 
and all that completes his lonely soul 
of a broken shattered heart 
due to the abandonment 
he feels for his parent's "death" 
or what everyone calls, 
"Divorce."
