From An Unknown Darkness

From An Unknown Darkness

Karyn Indursky

Traveling through your poetry is
traveling through your white rapid water adventures
in a canoe not knowing when the water will splash me
with raw emotions and daring images dangling
from the sky like giant feathers tickling my soul
to make me laugh
before I cry out
not in agony, but
sheer delight because
I've come into new light
from an unknown darkness.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this poem originally as a critique to Shaketa Copelin's poem, "Stretch," and had to post because it feels like poetry pouring out my soul.
