Dressed With Compliments

Dressed With Compliments

Karyn Indursky

Decorate me with a sparkling
silver dress of sincerity.
Make my eyes light up
like fluttering dragonflies
beneath a golden lagoon
sky of ratifying purity.
Coat my nails with magenta
mountains made of caressing
sounds of lapping ocean lines
drawn by your artistic words
etching my ecstasy.
Layer my hair
with felt-tip precision fingers
of delicate doily recognitions
about my various achievements.
Put heart felt flip-flops
on my feet and I will
dance with you in
orchids of honesty.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Like my poem, "Life's Injustices," I wrote this at work. I had some customers give me some sincere compliments lately and it shoved me into writing mode.
