Cat Play

Cat Play
Karyn Indursky
September 2012

Where art thou fudge brownie puppy playing?
Art thou busy chasing thy chocolate tail?

Shall the kitten stop batting at your ears
with tis sinister claws swatting your face
while thy hissing is like a polar bear
before thou'st scare thee to a hiding place?

Thou growl sends thy cat up thee red oak tree
with her eyes widened with fright, hair on end
and thy cat trying to escape from thee
when razor claws cut bark beyond amend.

So long as thou'st cat remains to exist;
thee dog will be thee endless enemy.
