Your Star Or Mine?

Reaching for the moon
on my tippy-toes
from a shooting star
wishing you where in my grasp,
but magically you're too busy
playing a bittersweet love song
for someone else
while I fantasize about the day
you leap from my dreams
into my medium blue eyed consciousness
for me to see my soulmate
standing before me
waiting to wrap me into his arms,
sweep me off my feet,
and give my son the dad he deserves.
