Fruition

Folder:
For Broken Hearts

It was barely perceptible,

A delicate disentangling

A pliant peeling away

Surreptitious separation

Incising in tiny tears

Oh, how I wanted to cling

Close, secure and sure

But life, life reaps surrender

Fruits must soften then drop

And rot to form new shoots
