Little Me
There was a little girl
who fell far from grace
and lies down on the floor with her hands on her face
Doesn’t anyone care
Doesn’t anyone dare
To help the girl upon the floor
Who cries to herself, “I can’t take it anymore.”
The tears stain her face
The pain wishing she could erase
She walks away with a steady pace
And tears still stain her pretty face
As they say that she’s a disgrace
She walks into the graveyard
Upon the early morn
She had her share of thorns
But something inside her awoke
And now something inside her choked
There was a rose upon her father’s grave
And it was then she knew how to behave
She dropped on her knees to the ground
And let her pain be the sound
Then a voice called her and she awoke
Then they all told her she gasped and choked
Something inside of her soul was now broke
The wings turned as dark as night
Her eyes glazing looking for a fight
Her fists clenched so tight
As the knuckles on her hands became white
It was her father that caused her so much pain
The words that he spoke last still drove her insane
As they echo deep inside her brain
What was it she was to gain
Fury had now cleansed her mind
The answers she needs to find
