We are void

You have left me devoid of feelings



Could it be you and me?

Walking the same path

As we have so many times b4

And yet the only thing that’s changed is us



No longer an us we are a you and I

This is one not so very sad goodbye



Who knew letting go would take 5 years

And countless billions of tears

Till the river ran dry

No longer the apple of my eye



Here you are before me

Begging for repeat history

Never with your words

Rather with the threat of battles and swords



Threats I will not succumb to

There’s no more I can bear to give you



Today you will watch me walk away

Unknowingly in your heart forever I will stay



Don’t linger here too long

There’s no encore to this song



This time is the last

I’m ready to let go of the past



We will be never again

This is goodbye old friend
