Picking Apples

Folder:
2009 Poetry

Picking apples off a tree,

on a wobbly ladder as I reach,

tasting good when they are free.

Much larger than a pea,

not as fuzzy as a peach.

Picking apples off a tree.

Here’s a thing you must agree,

good exercise for my teeth.

Tasting good when they are free.

Juices flowing like the sea,

though not effecting my slow speech.

Picking apples off a tree.

Listen closely when I decree,

for I’m not one to ever preach.

Tasting good when they are free.

Here’s the story don’t disagree,

it’s a thing that’s easy to teach.

Picking apples off a tree,

tasting good when they are free.
