Scrambled Thoughts

Experience tells me I should know

not to go into the cave and feel the wind flow.

Though inviting, it stimulates me,

then making me wish I were not the fool.

Everyday I look to cleanse myself

of this ancient sin and mold new thoughts.

Hence it seems I should smile,

looking towards home upon a miracle

as I linger and perhaps remove myself.

Then I’m reminded of the aroma of life

and the pounding verse that remains within.
