The Great Circle

2008 Poetry

Tiny branches spreading forth,

taking their stand in their world.

Knowing not yet their place

in the vast space in which they live.

It will take years for them to grow,

building strength as they gain stature.

As time passes they will merge

among the wizened old elders,

‘til that time they become the elders

to a new crop of offspring.

Thus continuing the great circle.
